Community Tech Tips : Mobile optimisation

Welcome to our next Community Tech Tip, where we’ll take a quick look at how you can access myRICS community on a mobile device.

The updated site is optimised for mobile performance, making it easier than ever to keep up to date with the community on the go. All you need to do is visit community.rics.org on your mobile browser and log in exactly the same way as you do on a laptop or desktop computer. When you access the site on mobile the My Groups Quick List, Hot Topic and My Followed Content panels will be hidden to make the News Feed more accessible.

The News Feed will scroll continuously just as it does on your computer, but if you ever want to quickly return to the top just tap on the Most Recent button that will appear at the top of the screen.

Whilst there's no dedicated app for myRICS community you can easily add a shortcut to your phone's home screen as follows:

iOS (Safari)

  • Open the Safari web browser and visit community.rics.org if you aren't already on the community page

  • Tap the Share button (square with an arrow).

  • Select "Add to Home Screen."

  • Name the shortcut and tap "Add."

Android (Chrome)

  • Open the Chrome web browser and and visit community.rics.org if you aren't already on the community page

  • Tap the three-dot menu (top-right corner).

  • Select "Add to Home screen."

  • Name the shortcut and tap "Add."

  • Choose "Add automatically" or drag it where you want it.

Just a short  tip this time but hopefully a helpful one, next time we'll be looking at some tips for crafting better community posts.
